News on Press

Elliot Tiber (right), the founder of Gaystock and the gay man who played a key role in the 1969 Woodstock Festival - which was faced with rejection from several venues - provided the organizers of Woodstock with not only a festival permit, but a feasible and available venue - the Yasgur's Farm.

The result was a historic event that gave birth to a new nation - the Woodstock Nation - who believe in Peace, Love and Freedom. There were thousands of gays and lesbians who helped and attended Woodstock and share the same beliefs. Woodstock changed the lives of millions of people and counting. However, thirty years later, gays and lesbians are still hurting and are still invisible. We are entitled to our freedom as is everyone else. Therefore, Elliot is determined to make his dream and vision of equal rights for "All of us" a reality.
