For the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, August 2009.

Gaystock™ is planning to hold its 1st International Music & Arts Festival in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We're planning to join forces with the local organizations and tourist industry. Sites on Native American lands are being investigated and hopefully we will be able to accommodate about 200,000 people.

Our first participating sponsor is the famous Cinema Paradiso in Ft. Lauderdale, home of the famous Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival. Hal Axler, director of the Cinema Paradiso, expressed high interest in running Gay & Lesbian Films 24 hours during Gaystock.

Major bands, entertainers, musicians and performance artists will all be welcome. A special focus will be GLBT performing artists.
With the cooperation of local and national television and cable coverage that our goals of drawing attention to EQUAL RIGHTS for the gay community as well as people of color and all lifestyles.

Gaystock will be a healing event to bring about the realization that "Gays" and "Straights" are one and the same, all people, so that the current and future generations need not suffer fear and oppression in the pursuit of love and happiness.

We are hopeful that Gaystock will bring to the surface the urgency of EQUAL RIGHTS to whoever is the President in 2009!

Ft. Lauderdale is a major GLBT vacation destination. There are thousands of hotel rooms at every price level in the immediate area. Since August is a hot month, Gaystock will make it even hotter and hopes to draw people from every state and overseas. The famous white sand beaches are a natural draw as is the lush paradise palm tree studded city of Ft. Lauderdale. Wilton Manors, a popular gay community has entertainment venues as well as countless clubs and shops. The New River in downtown Ft. Lauderdale boasts the largest number of yachts and boats in the USA.  We're sure the famous Jungle Queen will be a popular draw for the GLBT crowds including queens of other pov's.
